The takeover of Tata Steel Europe

back to Backstage

The active business activity soon led to various company takeovers and sales in the life of Montana Bausysteme AG. The most recent, for the time being, took place in 2007, when Montana became a member of the large Tata Steel Europe group.

The Tata Steel Group is one of the world's most geographically diversified steel manufacturers. It operates sales offices in over 35 countries and production facilities in 26 countries. These are located in countries such as India, the Netherlands, the UK and Singapore. It supplies a wide range of industries such as the automotive industry, construction, packaging, mechanical engineering and many more.

The Tata Steel Group's extensive product portfolio includes flat and long steels as well as construction products. The company is active in various markets, including the automotive sector, where Tata Motors, a global car manufacturer, owns the Tata, Jaguar and Land Rover brands. Other important industries include aerospace, tourism and construction; the division to which Montana belongs.

As the second largest steel manufacturer in Europe, Tata Steel is part of the Tata Group, one of India's largest corporate groups. Two of the best-known brands of this huge conglomerate are Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), a leading IT services company, and Tata Tea (now Tata Consumer Products), a company that produces and markets tea products.

Sustainability and progress are at the centre of all Tata Steel's activities. The production sites are operated responsibly and continuously improved. Safety for employees and protection of the environment are the guiding principles in everything we do.
As part of this global group, Montana benefits from synergies with sister companies such as Fischer Profil GmbH and SAB-profiel BV as well as from advantages in material procurement, product development and product expertise.

In order to meet future challenges and requirements, Tata Steel is undergoing a comprehensive transformation process in steel production. Innovations for tomorrow should have a positive impact today.
