MONTAPEOPLE – the key to success
Montana attaches great importance to the continuous development and advancement of its employees – a decisive factor for quality, efficiency and long-term success. Especially in a production company like ours, it is essential that specialised knowledge is regularly deepened, modern technologies are taught and safety standards are consistently adhered to. Through targeted training and further education, Montana not only ensures the expertise of its employees, but also promotes their motivation and long-term loyalty to the company.
The company currently employs around 125 people, with its headquarters in Villmergen and another branch in Germany. With over 60 years of experience in the metal industry, Montana is one of the leading employers in this sector. Particular emphasis is placed on a positive working atmosphere, fair working conditions and modern technologies. The health and safety of employees is a top priority and is reflected in comprehensive occupational safety measures.
Characterised by change
34 years ago, the number of women in Montana could literally be counted on one hand. Today, however, the picture has changed: Around 22% of the workforce are now women. Since the early 1990s, Montana has regularly trained commercial apprentices as well as the occasional machine operator or metalworker.
In the early 1990s, following the merger of Durisol AG Villmergen and the move from Würenlingen to Villmergen, Montana employed around 140 people. However, the subsequent economic crisis led to significant job cuts.
Since then, however, the number of employees has developed positively again: In October 2004, Montana had 99 employees; by October 2014, this figure had risen to 111. In October 2024, Montana now employs 127 people – a sign of the company's steady growth and adaptability.
Promotion and further training in production
Montana attaches great importance to the qualifications and development of its production employees. Most employees have specific training in technical or craft areas; they come from professions such as metalworkers, painters/panel layers/bricklayers, foresters or building plumbers. Employees' expertise is strengthened through targeted promotion opportunities and continuous further training programmes that are tailored to the metal industry and the requirements of the production processes.
Support for office staff
Office staff also benefit from further training opportunities. Job-specific training is supported by Montana and internal promotion opportunities are an important aspect of staff development. This promotes sustainable career planning within the company, which contributes to a positive and stable working environment.
Company-wide training and events
To promote a strong corporate culture and maintain quality and safety standards, Montana regularly organises internal training courses on product knowledge, quality assurance and occupational safety. The company also regularly organises cool company events - from Christmas parties to sporting activities – which promote team cohesion and motivation.
In the current economic situation, it is clear how important it is to invest in the promotion and development of our MONTAPEOPLE. Finding and retaining qualified and committed employees is one of the key tasks in ensuring the company's continued existence and competitiveness. Montana shows here how sustainable employee development contributes to the company's long-term success and creates the basis for a responsible and future-orientated corporate culture.
